Al Gore has been nominated for a Nobel Peace prize (link).
OSLO, Norway (AP) — Former Vice President Al Gore has been nominated for the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for his wide-reaching efforts to draw the world’s attention to the dangers of global warming, a Norwegian lawmaker said Thursday.
“A prerequisite for winning the Nobel Peace Prize is making a difference, and Al Gore has made a difference,” Conservative Member of Parliament Boerge Brende, a former minister of environment and then of trade, told The Associated Press.
Brende said he joined political opponent Heidi Soerensen, of the Socialist Left Party, to nominate Gore as well as Canadian Inuit activist Sheila Watt-Cloutier before the nomination deadline expired Thursday.
“Al Gore, like no other, has put climate change on the agenda. Gore uses his position to get politicians to understand, while Sheila (Watt-Cloutier) works from the ground up,” Brende said.
Imagine George Bush being nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize or an Oscar after leaving office.
In fact, try to imagine Bush doing anything worthwhile after leaving office.
Try to imagine him doing anything worthwhile while in office, or before taking office. Dude is straight up worthless, but it’s worse than that because he trashes everything he touches.

It’s some sort of a blog aggregatior thingy. I think it’s automated. I can’t imagine why it would post a Libby trial link on an Al Gore post. I could block it, but then I couldn’t mock it.
Speaking of insane. There are those who are also claiming that Rush Limbaugh has been nominated for the Peace Prize. The difference being that Al Gore has been nominated by someone who is actually entitled to do so Mr. Limbaugh has been nominated by someone who just sent a letter to the Nobel Committee.
That Limbaugh thing is a hoot.
