I don’t see the connection.
There’s two:
One is a general attitude by voters - if Great Britain can get rid of their Prime Minister before election, why can’t we?
More important, Blair is the biggest international player that adds any perceived credibility to what Bush says about Iraq. If he’s gone, that “backup cred” disappears as well, and Bush won’t have a name ally to point to as supporting his position.
make that “why can’t we get rid of Bush?”
I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were you. He is hanging tough and I can’t see him being forced out. He still, unfortunately, has too many loyal supporters in the party. I even wonder if he might stay on longer than he has said he would, i.e. at least until the next Labour Conference.
