The executive branch is under no compulsion to testify to Congress, because Congress in fact doesn’t have oversight ability.

Someone oughta remind the federal government that Tony Snow changed the rules.

“One of the most important implied powers is Congress’s authority to investigate and oversee the executive branch and its agencies, such as the Department of Defense and the Department of Justice. Congress also holds hearings on matters of general public concern. Sometimes members of Congress conduct these hearings to identify problems that create a need for new laws. In other cases Congress holds hearings to raise public awareness about an issue.”

The other thing that’s been eating at me through all of this: we, the taxpayers pay all these salaries and own all of this information. bushco treats us like we are their private reservation for them to exploit as they wish and that Bush’s claim “It’s your money” is a fucking lie in his mouth. All of our money, our bodily integrety and our will is his, so he believes. He’s a fucking megalomaniac.
