I heard on the radio this week that Specter had filed papers to start his re-election bid for 2010.

Not sure what he’d be trying to do, beat Strom Thurmond’s record? But either politically or medically, it requires a level of optimism that borders on delusional.

I wonder what Bush has on Specter to keep him in line; he’s not much of a ‘team player’, and committee chairmanship isn’t on offer any more.

Maybe it’s just hard to wash off that brown lipstick, once it’s painted on.

Sen. Arlen Specter (Pa.), Judiciary’s senior Republican, at first declined to reveal his vote, later adding that he abstained by remaining silent.
