Vilsackian

There’s been a lot of press lately about former-Iowa-Governor turned candidate-for-President-for-a-few-forgettable-months Tom Vilsack endorsing Hillary Clinton for the nomination.
I know Iowa is an important state. And Vilsack was Governor there. But Vilsack’s three month candidacy for President should severely diminish any value his endorsement should give Clinton. Why should Americans care if a person who’s understanding of political reality is so poor that he runs a three month campaign for President as a dark horse and drops out a year before the first primaries? That’s just poor political judgement. How did his expenditures benefit Democrats in considering a possible Presidential nominee? What issues did he bring forward for debate? Was there anything, other than his increased name recognition and greater political bargaining position, that was impacted during his brief candidacy? From a distance, this seems like pretty transparent political hackery… so just how valuable is that kind of endorsement?
