My old voice teacher used to only get the fake nails put on her right hand -- the really tough acrylic kind with all the toxic chemicals from the salon -- because she liked them for playing the guitar.  The ladies in the salon thought she was nuts.  Her left hand had nails cut short as humanly possible, and extremely respectable guitar-player callouses.</description>
