The End is Near

It used to be that sometimes I would wake up in the morning and Imus would be on the TV and then I’d change the channel and everything would be right again. Now when Imus is on the TV and I change the channel, he’s still on the TV and no matter how often or enthusiastically I pursue non-Imus related program activities, he’s still right there on my TV. If anybody has found a way around this, please let me know.

turn off the tv?
Clever, and I have tried it. But then, needing entertainment, I fire up the intertubes and there he is all over again. Of course I do realize that I’ve now contributed to the fouling of the tubes, and that I should probably be sent to gitmo for it, but he’d be here even without me. Anybody want to suggest turning off the TV and the Intertubes?
Watch the Food Network.
That’s not a bad idea Melanie, but I’m a little worried about their new series, The Barefoot Misogynist.
Take a space flight with Russian cosmonauts.
Yeah, I’d think off-planet would work. There’s always watching paint dry, if you’re really desperate.
Do people still watch TV?
In the morning?
Can’t you think of something better to do?
Is this on-line dating?
Sometimes I think I live in an alternate universe–or everyone else does. I read on the blogs about people like Chris Matthews, Sean Hannity, Don Imus, Lou Dobbs, John Stewart, Wolf Blitzer (really? “Wolf Blitzer”?!).
I’ve never encountered any of these people (in real life or on TV or on radio. I know them only via commentary and via video snips on the web. Do they really exist or are you making this shit up?
