A Little Slice Of Heaven

Fiancee & I went out last night for a lovely dinner at Horizons and then to see Loreena McKennitt. I don’t know which was better.
Horizons is so good that it’s not just the best vegan or vegetarian restaurant I’ve ever been to, it’s probably the best restaurant I’ve ever been to, period - and I’m quite the food snob. How do they make a vegan cheesecake that’s better than the dairy version?! I swear, if those people were my personal chefs, I’d go vegan in a heartbeat and never look back.
And then to top it off with ten incredibly versatile musicians switching back and forth between a whole globe’s worth of instruments on one stage along with that heartbreaking voice…well, it was just a little slice of heaven. I was never really a Loreena fan, but now I understand that her music is meant to be experienced live. If you happen to be on the path of her tour, it’s not to be missed.

I’m a bit jealous, I really wanted to see her show, but schedule wouldn’t allow.
FWIW, they’re playing in Reading on Monday. If you can possibly go, go. It’s worth the caffeine you need in order to get through the next day.
Just picked up tickets for Loreena in Kalamazoo. She is one of two performers I would spend money on. What a voice and what an imagination.
The other one is Mariza.
