It’s this week. There’s a short list of “famous teachers” online at this site, it seems to me the potential for something more interesting in this vein is enormous..

I’ve never had what I would consider a truly “famous” teacher, but many, many successful ones - both within directly teaching and the educational industry in general. As a student you rarely find out about their professional achievements but thanks to the Internet and Google, you can find out about it later. I had a high school journalism teacher - a great guy named Jerome Burg - who ended up developing software for education as well as teaching (which he still does today).
So… have you Googled your favorite teachers today?
I had one who was both famous and a great educator, big band trumpeter Paul Storti. I had never thought to Google him until your suggestion, PSoTD. He died in 1995.
The choir teacher who inspired me (in ways both good and bad) to become one myself has 2 kids on Broadway now. The best history teacher I ever had came home one day & found his wife in bed with another woman. He killed them both and then himself.
