Just Wondering

Am I the only person who’s wondering if this guy caught TB from sex with someone from a very high-risk group - that is, hookers?
Because not only did he catch TB from somewhere, he apparently caught it from someone who has never been treated (various reports said the CDC had no samples of this strain). Sex workers with HIV are highly prone to TB, which is not such a common disease these days - and they tend to avoid going to the doctor.

. . . TB, which is not such a common disease these days . . .
You’re right about TB and HIV infection being a synergistically scary mix, but TB isn’t rare–it’s actually one of the “big three” communicable diseases, along with AIDS and malaria (compare 1.577 million deaths from TB in 2005 with 2.9 million AIDS deaths in 2006 and malaria, with more than a million deaths a year). Even in the States, although TB incidence is declining, the rate of decline is slowing.
Perhaps he got it from his father-in-law!
I thought the same thing……..
