AIDS in Black Community

Richardson stumbles, doesn’t make much sense. Then praises Bush’s handling of the issue. WTF? Bush pledged much, delivered little and tied it to expensive brand-name drugs and abstinence programs that forbade condom education.
Obama: Stigma in our communities. We don’t talk about it. Aspect of homophobia, we don’t address it the way it needs to be. Lack of education, lack of economic opportunity is all part of this. Compares HIV to an immune problem in the black community about other issues like drugs, etc.
Kucinich: Time to get real about health care in education. Sex education as a priority at an early age. Time to make health care a basic right in a democratic society - Michael Moore’s right, time for a not-for-profit health care.
Gravel: If you really want to do something about the inner cities, it’s time to end this war on drugs. It’s ravishing this community.
Dodd: Need for school-based clinics in the community. Invite parents to participate more in the schools. Infant mortality, cardiovascular conditions, not just AIDS.
Tavis: You’re not Paris Hilton, you don’t get an hour. Much laughter.
Hillary: If this was the leading cause of death in white women, there would be an outrage in this country. Multiple dimension problem. We need to take it seriously, get the public services we need.
Biden: Policy of neglect, denial, lack of honesty. Lack of focus in the white community. Not unmanly to wear a condom. I got tested for AIDS, I know Obama got tested for AIDS. There’s no shame in getting tested for AIDS. (Crowd goes wild when camera shows Al Sharpton making a face.)
