Telemarketers

Tonight I got a telemarketing call on behalf of the DNC. As soon as I heard what they wanted, I started to laugh.
“Oh no,” I said. “Not one thin dime until the Democrats get up off their hind legs. Nope.”
“This is a completely new leaf…” she said, reading confidently from her script.
“Listen, talk is cheap,” I said, interrupting. “All I know is, the Democrats whined for the past six or seven years that they couldn’t do anything in the minority, and yet I read again today that the Republicans blocked some legislation.
“I’m a lifelong Democrat, and I’m not interested. You want my money, you show me a spine first. Then we’ll talk.”

Yep, been saying the same thing.
I was saying that to DNC telemarketers in 2004 and 2006.
Right on!
The blocking is the stupid undemocratic rules of the Senate. It’s the same complaint the republicans had in regard to judicial nominations not getting an up or down vote. So it’s hypocritical for either side to complain now since both have used the power and suffered because of it.
That’s what they’re getting from me too. I’ll give the money to Edwards.
