Remember, they used to be fully government-funded; now they have to raise their own funds from corporations. They're not quite as fearless as they used to be - except for Bill Moyers, of course. When he says "I won’t even go into the whole issue of how much money the government wastes," he doesn't seem to know that Medicare is far more cost-efficient than the insurance companies are. I remember reading that Medicare's admin costs are about 3%, whereas the average cost for private insurance companies is about 20%. He’s got one thing wrong, though.
