And yet, strangely, absolutely nothing about Venus has changed. It continues, in accordance with the laws of inertia and gravitation, to orbit the sun at a distance of 67 million miles, moving smoothly and uninterruptedly in a nearly perfect circle. Both Venus and the Earth are continuing to follow the path they’ve been in for billions of years.
