No, Senator Schumer, the Democrats weren’t “hoodwinked.” The party establishment choose to see the Supreme Court confirmations as a political threat to politicians, rather than a real-life threat to common citizens, and framed it accordingly.
Why on earth did Democrats focus on Roe v. Wade as the biggest threat from Roberts and Alito when they already had such a long and obvious track record of ruling for corporations against workers? That wouldn’t have been such a hard sell. Instead, you gave the Republican base a reason to rally the troops: Saving the unborn.

He’s not as high of a priority as replacing other Senators, but eventually liberals need to address replacing Schumer with someone who can speak and think.

Dems need to let Corporate America know what will happen if they pull that crap again and then refuse to pass a bill funding any branch of the executive government. fund the military to the e3xtent they want and no further. Fund entitlements. Fund nothing else, especially the VP.
