I just have to say that the idea of martial law here in the states is patently absurd. Not that they wouldn’t try it, because there is no self-destructive policy they’ve seen so far that they didn’t like (that’s just the Bush Doctrine). But the result would be a disaster of a magnitude to make Iraq look like a Sunday picnic. I posted on the subject over there: http://haveskunk.blogspot.com/
No worries, at least not about that.
cheers.
It’s always comforted me that the military basically hate Bush/Cheney, but listening to NPR, someone pointed out that there are a lot of Blackwater-type merc companies they could contract “keeping the peace” to.
The blackwater types have families, too.
You guys are a little callous about the fallout.
What if? Bush has set himself up as supreme ruler if something happens. Chertoff is running around setting up for something happening this summer.
I doubt martial law would succeed for long in this country. But who gets stomped on in the shuffle? And what will we end up with?
These guys are playing for keeps, and they have all their egg baskets off-shore.
