What if? Bush has set himself up as supreme ruler if something happens. Chertoff is running around setting up for something happening this summer. I doubt martial law would succeed for long in this country. But who gets stomped on in the shuffle? And what will we end up with? These guys are playing for keeps, and they have all their egg baskets off-shore. You guys are a little callous about the fallout.

Not that they wouldn't try it, because there is no self-destructive policy they've seen so far that they didn't like (that's just the Bush Doctrine). But the result would be a disaster of a magnitude to make Iraq look like a Sunday picnic.
