Trustworthy

Until I read this Glenn Greenwald column, I really had no idea my friend Mike Rogers was so openly despised by so many wingnuts. (You might remember the story I told about his memorable meeting with Joe Klein.)
See, I don’t read wingnuts. They make shit up, it makes my head hurt if I even try to figure out the many different ways they lie and obfuscate. So I just don’t.
But boy, they’re shameless, aren’t they? I can tell you this: Mike Rogers is one of the most honorable and ethical reporters it’s ever been my pleasure to know. He’s idealistic to a fault and does a lot of soul searching before he outs anyone.
And not just the outing work. He gathers viewpoints on everything he does. If he’s at all uncomfortable with his ethical position on something, he errs on the side of caution. So if Mike reported that Larry Craig has sex with men, I’d feel safe betting on it. So there!
It’s sad they can’t be intellectuality honest and just stop defending Craig. But that would mean admitting that they were used and brought all of Craig’s talk.
