Where’s the accountability? Where’s the fact-checking? Where are the editors? (As people like to whine about blogs.)
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Microsoft founder Bill Gates and former U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan have added their names to the list of people who say they were the subjects of fake interviews published in a French foreign affairs journal under the name of Alexis Debat, a former ABC News consultant.
I don’t think this is the aberration the media would prefer us to think. This gang has resurrected virtually every illegal covert operation from Republican administrations past, and I see no good reason to doubt they’ve also started up Operation Mockingbird again. As I’ve pointed out before, the Washington Post and the New York Times were among the media outlets with close ties to the CIA and I’m convinced we have reporters on their payroll today.
