It is a political speech, therefore loaded with rhetoric and hyperbole. But it seems clear to me that Mr. Edwards wants to reform health care and political lobbying: that's not overthrowing a failed political system; it's refining our democracy. The continuous refinement of our democracy is necessary to a dynamic society, always in flux. Self-reflection is vital if we wish to evolve ethically and to survive. We need a change, and Mr. Edwards is speaking to my heart.

It would be most prudent for one to take a moment to seperate ones feelings and desires from the subtle beauty and promise contained within the language of this speach, and veiw it's intrinsic message clearly, objectivly, and in plain language. This message is a thinly veils a much darker and more troublesome reality. Simply because one cannot reform a corrupted political system that we have lost control over. This moving speech seems to not fully acknowlege that it implicates a dangerious proposition, that the existing political system has failed, and thusly to restore justice, it must be overthrown. We as a people must carfully weigh all forseeable possibilities before undergoeing such a proposition and deciding which road we should follow. It would be a dangerious mistake to make, to assume that the populous, loves thier country any less, simply because it is in the wrong.

Based on that speech, he has my vote for as long as he
vigorously reitierates that position.

This country is aching for a populist, democratic leader.

He's behind because corporatists who own the country want him behind. Media has trimmed the 17 person race for president down to 5 for us. Only those they anoint are given voices, the rest are silenced. Our owners know Americans won't search for the best candidates and will rely instead on corporate owned media. Most of the so-called progressive blogs have bought into the same meme as well. I've noticed since the candidates announced that Edwards was never mentioned as leading in the polls even when he was. Discussions of polling that showed Edwards ahead by wide margins was always always down-played as an aberration. Now we're told that Hillary has it sewn up, "nothing to see here move along, move along." I'm really getting pretty pissed at the state of the nation.
