I’ll post interesting election news as I find it.
FIrst off: Dems take control of the Virginia State Senate for the first time in more than a decade.
The disgusting Haley Barbour is reelected governor in Mississippi; Kentucky decides they want a Dem at the helm.
Dems lost Indianapolis City Council.

The thing is, in Indianapolis, the Democrats lost the Council and the Mayorship because of a backlash against rising property taxes, not because of some wave of quality Republican candidates or proposed policies.
The Democratic Mayor of Indy had done a fairly decent job in his previous terms but when the property tax issue was completely bungled (in some cases, homeowners saw increases of 1000%), he was done.
One of the TV stations did some polling and found that it wasn’t that people were voting FOR the Republican (who, BTW, will probably screw things up badly in the coming years) as they were AGAINST the Democratic mayor (Bart Peterson).
Maybe the national Democratic Party might want to learn something here!
