Who Cares About Consumers?

This reminds me of “Jaws,” where the mayor wouldn’t close the beach because it would be bad for the tourist business. God forbid we should be able to avoid the crap they routinely pump into the food supply:
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has told Tyson Foods Inc. that it can no longer label its products as “raised without antibiotics,” a blow to one of the nation’s largest chicken producers.
The company, which has spent tens of millions of dollars since June on an advertising and labeling campaign to distinguish its product from competitors, is scrambling to salvage the label.
I saw a Tyson label the other day in the store that said that, I didn’t believe it when I saw it. Turns out I was right.
