The police cleaned up quite a bit of the "mess" after my brother blew his brains out. I think it was mostly contained to the bedding, so they just rolled it up and took it away. My sister-in-law had considered professional cleaning crews before any of us had gotten up the nerve to go into the room. We still had to take the mattress and box spring out, and when I called the city to come get it, they wouldn't send anyone out special, AND I had to go buy plastic to wrap it in because it was a bio-hazard. The woman I talked to at the city was a fucking bitch. The man who stood out in front the next day to warn off anybody who was coming to look at the house was an asshole. (The house was going into repo. My brother owed 70 dollars. Strangely enough, the notice of the repo disappeared with the cops.) When I went out to ask him what the fuck he was doing - let me rephrase that - When I walked out of the front door of the house, and down the front steps of the house, to where he was standing in front of the house to ask him what the fuck he was doing, he yelled at me for being angry, because a terrible tragedy had occurred. Yeah, my brother blew his brains out over seventy bucks. I guess I would call it a tragedy.
So, yeah, the city will cover its own ass, but you? you're on your own.

Okay, I kind of lost it there. Sorry.
Maybe this will be the next charity group to form - people who get together and go out and clean up. But I'm thinking a lot of people would be afraid to damage evidence, or something.
