This is exactly what all this posturing has been about from the beginning. To the members of this congress, Demorep and Reopcrat, the wars are just annoying sideshow that keep upsetting the real business which is in this budget. The jobs, contracts, projects, loopholes, special favors, etc., that is their sole concern. this is why there are no fillibusters. this is why there are no principled stands taken if you don't have the votes.

Stopping the war would mean stopping the checks being written and contracts being awarded, and, to them, it ain't worth it. That thousands of people die and millions have life turned into hell on earth, is a distraction from their real business: money and power to make money. As Obey says, "No use fighting over all this war business, to hell with it. Just pass the budget."

so i dashed of a long, bullet pointed letter explaining exactly why i'm not giving them a red cent this year.
fuck 'em. they've fucked us long enough.
