On what far-flung planet does Anne Applebaum live? When she writes silly crap like this (which is almost all the time), I have to wonder why I don’t have a Washington Post column.
For one thing, feminists are fighting situations like this. Just because Applebaum can’t find a story about something on the NOW website doesn’t mean it’s not happening.

Also, it was my first visit to the WaPo in a long time. I stopped reading that paper. The news section is OK, if predictably boring, but the op-eds are so unhinged from anything resembling reality, I don’t like to rewards the paper with money or hits.
Your post would be a hell of a lot more convincing if you gave at least a few examples, with links, to what the femininst community is doing about such situations.
