It's true that, with most things that would be unhealthy for you in great quantities, moderation is the key. Hey, if you ingest enough nutmeg it's poison as well. Fortunately, as has been pointed out, pot isn't usually smoked in high enough quantities for this to be a factor. Except possibly for "smoking machines."

The scientists found that ammonia levels were 20 times higher in the marijuana smoke than in the tobacco smoke, while hydrogen cyanide, nitric oxide and certain aromatic amines occurred at levels 3-5 times higher in the marijuana smoke, they say

Actually since you'd smoke 20 times less pot it would kinda even out. I would be curious to know who sponsored this research. At least it's Canadians(government?) and not the US, but still. Also I don't recall anyone out there saying smoke pot as a "health food". I never used it as a health food. Well that's all I got off the top of my head.

Actually, Susie, you are wrong. When eaten, marijuana is harmless to the lungs and the respiratory system, and to the rest of your body as well. You shouldn't drive after a bunch of pot brownies, but eating marijuana is safer than drinking booze.
Smoking marijuana isn't too good for you, I will concede. But your metaphor doesn't work here.

I repeat: It ain't health food. And neither is tobacco, so breaking even is not remotely a good thing.

Of course, people rarely smoke the same amount of pot as they would/do tobacco. The one toxin, at 20 time the level of tobacco, might constitute a break even point...
