You know how the Senate has been holding those pro forma sessions to keep Bush from making recess appointments?
Bush is now claiming they don’t count.
Allow someone to trample on the Constitution long enough without any negative consequences, and they start to believe it’s just a goddamned piece of paper.
And for all practical purposes, now it is.




So if Bush doesn’t sign for a certain number of days, and the Congress is in session the bill becomes a law right?
Someone needs to take this to court and see if Bush just allowed something he wanted vetoed to become law because he’s too dumb to know better.

Sadly, no.
Putsch is claiming that, since the House is not in pro forma session, and the bill originated in the House, that he can use the pocket veto provision on the bill.
If the bill was a Senate bill, then he couldn’t use this. At least that’s what I get from some of the analysis I have seen around the internets on this topic…
