Just as an aside, I still remember the day my ex-husband’s Social Security disability came in the mail - a week after his funeral. And he was one of the lucky ones who had disability insurance through his job.

Yes, the lightbulb that leads the way to reality.
i was turned down, told there must be something i can do. thing is, 8 years later, i still haven’t figured out what i can do, at least steadily. as in a job. i didn’t appeal either, but now i have a lawyer. there’s no way i could ever live on what i’d get but it would pay a portion of my medical bills at least.
This is called “running the government like a business”.
Oh, no. I’m not reading this now. Not the day I have to go start my daughter’s appeal. Have you no pity?
