I was doing my own informal test of this very thing earlier today. I went to the home page of several news websites, (CNN, MSNBC, FoxViews, WaPo, NYT, LA Times, etc) and used the button on my browser to search for John Edwards. Sometimes he showed up once, in an article about Hillary or Obama. Several times he did not exist.
