Pretty ironic, huh:
I was covering for the Swiss and German media the bus-tour stop of Rudy Giuliani at Sarasota’s Mel’s Diner on Monday evening. He gave me an interview for those newspapers.
I asked him a question about the American economy. Giuliani responded that the American economy is in great shape, that Republican President George Bush has done a great job.
Then Friday, I read that the Mel’s Diner closed on Tuesday and hasn’t paid its employees.
Is it not shameful for a potential president of the United States to say that the U.S. economy is in great shape when employees are so often laid off? In Europe, we know that America is in a recession. Evidently candidate Giuliani did not know on Monday the real-life situation at Mel’s Diner, or that many average American citizens have long been struggling with similar fates — the surprise of losing their job at a moment’s notice.
For the Swiss and German readers, he says the American economy is in great shape.

If Rudy’s lips are moving, he’s lying.
I think he’s toast in this election cycle.

Susie: When you google Claude Buhler, you don’t get too many “news” hits. Are you sure he is legit?
I just put his name in Google and got hundreds of hits.
The local paper says Giuliani is in trouble for tax evasion.
correction : the Sarasota Herald Tribune reports the owner of Mel’s Diner is in trouble for tax evasion. Apology to his honor da mayor.
Remarque to Wendy Whinner:
