How come economists aren’t taunted for their bad predictions as pseudo-scientific? (As I recently said to yet another person attacking me over astrology.)

They ARE taunted. And should be, considering the damage that they can do.
Granted, they’re not taunted enough. But that would require putting them in stocks and throwing rotten produce at them, and with the state of the economy it’s better to eat that stuff before it goes bad.
