The thing I’ve been noticing is the growing number of layoffs around the country in municipal governments and school districts. (Like this, this, this, and this.)

These are things that affect the quality of life in a town, especially in the smaller ones. And this is what happens after years of voting for Republicans “because they won’t raise my taxes.” Now it’s time to pay the piper.
