If you read the article, it may just as well have been titled, “Edwards May Endorse Obama”.
It’s last week’s news put out to get Hillary some headlines to distract from her losses in the “Potomac Primary”.
This is interesting:

No, the reason it was NEWS is that no one expected him to seriously consider endorsing Hillary. That was in the article, too.
I think the time for an Edwards endorsement has passed. Most of his supporters have already made their decision. How many people would change their minds at this point because of his endorsement? A few, perhaps, but not many. Instead, as tensions are fairly high right now between the Clinton and Obama camps, I fear he would only alienate a large chunk of his former supporters, which wouldn’t do anything to further his agenda on poverty. If he remains neutral, I think he’d be more highly regarded, and, thus, more effective in pressuring the candidates to take on his stands. He now has allies within both camps who would like to see his ideas adopted. He could also play a role as peacemaker, which we may need. I’m concerned about the ugly atmosphere developing within the party. People like Edwards, Richardson, Biden, etc. would do more good at this point in bringing everyone together rather than taking sides in an intra-party split. If they were going to endorse, they should’ve done so back down the road.
