Dems are concerned that their most loyal constituency (blacks) now wants to sit at the head of the table.

It is too too ironic to watch the establishment Dems try to beat back a black man because a woman must go first!

Rendell simply said that SOME whites won’t vote for a black person, not that NO whites would vote for a black person. This is unfortunately a fact. The world is full of bigoted idiots. The interviewer keeps trying to cite Mr. Obama’s primary wins as proof that no whites voted against Mr. Obama. I’m far from a Rendell fan, but SOME people are bigots.

yes, and some people will not vote for a woman. and some people will not vote for a democrat. and some people will not vote for a republican.

all those are facts, but who cares. after all, there are some people in pennsylvania who won’t vote for a jew or a philadelphian and yet rendell is governor.

When Rendell said that “if you tell the truth [to the media] you get skewered” I had to agree.

I don’t think I’ve ever interviewed a politician about a race where he didn’t immediately break down all the variables into percentages and probabilities. (For instance, in a race between relative unknowns, a female has a 3% edge.) It’s what they do. I thought it was silly to say he was racist because of it. Again - “gotcha!” politics.

rendell explained himself well, unfortunately he also said swann was well spoken and intelligent about six times.

Rendell made lots of “we need to be mature about race” arguments and implied that it should be ignored. He cited Nutter as an example of the more enlightened attitude of Philly these days.

He and Chris were obviously ready to jerk each other off, and tweety kept making all these statements about how tough it is to comment on race or gender these days.

of course, I think tweety has more gender issues than race issues, he is obsessed with hillary clinton and you have to throw all of his homo-erotic commentary into the mix as well:

Joel- what did I say that you did not like ? If you disagree , have the guts to say it. Do you fear the truth?

And Susie, Governor Rendell has used the MSM better than Stradavarius, so for him to blame them is ironic too.
