No, I actually just glanced at it and then posted it because someone I respect asked me to. I haven't paid that much attention to that whole Pakistan/Obama discussion because I assume the media got it wrong. They usually do - that's why I don't watch the news.

...adding: i also think that attacks that a democrat says against a democrat that later get picked up by republicans in the general, are likely to be more effective than attacks republicans come up with themselves.

take this one, for example. liberal bloggers have repeated the "obama will attack pakistan!!!" charge already. they believe it because it came from a democrat they support. and other non-blogger clinton supporters are likely to believe it when their candidate says it. so months down the line if obama is the nominee, it will be harder to convince them it's all a republican lie.

oh sure, i have no illusions that the republicans will attack obama no matter what the clinton campaign says. i'm just pointing out that when democrats misrepresent each other's records in their attacks, those same misrepresentations will be used against the party later on. republicans will come up with unfair attacks, there's just no need for democrats to be helping them come up with them.

Don't need to blame the Clintons for things Obama says.
The GOP will use everything a Dem candidate says against him, in every possible way.

actually, this is a perfect example of a misrepresentation about what obama said by the clinton campaign, migrating over and becoming an attack line by republicans.

maybe if the clinton campaign were more honest about obama's remarks about pakistan they wouldn't assist the republicans in weakening his position in the general election.

considering Pakistan's involvement in nuclear proliferation and failure to do anything about AQ Khan; considering that OBL is apparently alive and well in Pakistan; considering Pakistan's well-known support for the Taliban, especially in the military and secret police; and considering Pakistan's actual-for-real nuclear arsenal, perhaps St. McCain should consider shutting his mouth.

I have no problem with the military being used the way it's supposed to be used: I just think adventures like Iraq are stupid, a waste of strength and resources.
I think also that the opportunity to do something about the western provinces on Pakistan has long since come and gone.

Killing terrorists is a bipartisan sport.
The military/media/industrial complex is an equal opportunity destroyer.
Doncha know, buck?
Shoulda hit Pakiland years ago...

Yeah, it's unthinkable that we would consider striking terrorists in Pakistan.
