Part of what makes the Obama campaign troubling is that they are attacking potential allies–i.e., other Democratic voters–as much as, or more than, the opposition

isn't that true with clinton as well? i mean, most of the arguments i see here are susie attacking obama and me and a couple of other people trying to fend off the attack. and it's not like i don't have serious reservations about obama, it's just that the clinton-leaning bloggers in the blogosphere seem to be throwing a lot of shit at him.

that's not to say that there isn't a lot of shit throwing going from obama's camp to clinton's as well. i'm just saying i don't think you can plausibly claim that the obamaniacs are the only ones attacking potential allies. and unfortunately, it won't get better until the primary campaign is finally over.

Susie,
fwiw, if I read that comment right, I think he was referring to the author of the article, not you. But I could be wrong.
fwiw II, I tend to agree with your scepticism of Obama. Then again, I'm no longer a democrat and have fallen away from getting too caught up in the garbage they all, generally, pedal.

Well Suzie I like to say that if you want to be a big shot, you have to take the big shots. Obama wants to be the biggest big shot, and with that some criticism has to come his way on this site and in other venues.

Part of what makes the Obama campaign troubling is that they are attacking potential allies--i.e., other Democratic voters--as much as, or more than, the opposition. A lot of the Edwards and Clinton supporters have been hounded off of the Big Orange website. The fact is that their candidate has many faults and weaknesses, not least of which is the fact that he has not established real progressive bona fides, and his choices in counselors on affairs foreign and domestic, do not bode well. In fact, much of the Broderian "reaching across the aisle" looks to this observer like something he'd be doing from the pro-business, anti-tax, anti-regulation side of the aisle. If he becomes president, he will have a Clintonesque aura, but he has not demonstrated that he will be as able an administrator as Bill Clinton in a day-to-day nuts-and-bolts aspect. And he will inherit huge economic problems that he will really have no power to change, and in this environment, he will end up disappointing and alienating more than just Hillary Clinton voters.

As an Edwards voter, I'm getting to the point where I'm not even going to hold my nose to vote for Obama.
