Huge Money

For anybody hoping that the Clinton campaign will soon go gently into the night, here’s a bit of a reality check for you.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign is set to announce later today that she’s on track to raise roughly $35 million in the month of February, a huge month by any standard measure of political fundraising and her best of the campaign.
A Clinton advisor confirmed the figure, which is enough to suggest that money won’t be an obstacle to Clinton’s campaign going forward — though Clinton is still being heavily outspent by Barack Obama and his labor allies in Texas and Ohio. The surge has been fueled largely online contributions that Clinton has said are coming in to the tune of $1 million a day.
While I have been labeled as a member of the O-Borg, which I assume means I’m hopelessly naive, incapable of reaching a conclusion based on a rational thought processes and simply must follow the path laid out for me without question, I’d be quite happy to see the primary go until the convention. Unlike the the internet version, the actual primary has been pretty enjoyable and substantive. I think it’s mostly put both of the remaining candidates into a good position to trounce the dessicated corpse who waits for them in the general.

I don’t think it matters how much money HRC raises in the next week if she doesn’t get some useful results next Tuesday. Honestly, if she can’t at least win the popular vote in Texas - basically a standard her campaign set for her - then what is the point? If money isn’t translating into votes, then money’s going to disappear.
I’d like to see the candidates competing on how effectively they can beat up on McCain.
