In light MBW’s criticism of the my last post in which she argues, probably accurately, that the Daisy comparison I made isn’t all that good, I’d like to offer up a slightly better one.
I guess what I was thinking with the Daisy comparison was that the two ads basically hit on the same nerve; that if we elect an inexperienced leader in dangerous times our children are going to die. Obviously, the Clinton ad isn’t quite so over the top, but the subtext is there. Shit, maybe the comparison works after all. But really, what the hell do I know? Maybe this is totally smart election strategy. The ad is for Texas and I can think of at least one Texas politician for whom this type of strategy has worked quite well. It could play really well there.

Surely at this point you are starting to see a problem with your chosen candidate and her staffers?
this is my favorite from Duncan/Ezra Klein and the imploding Hillary campaign in the last 15 minutes:

RE: Obama Must-Wins
The media has anointed Barack Obama the presumptive nominee and he’s playing the part.
With an eleven state winning streak coming out of February, Senator Obama is riding a surge of momentum that has enabled him to pour unprecedented resources into Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island and Vermont.
The Obama campaign and its allies are outspending us two to one in paid media and have sent more staff into the March 4 states. In fact, when all is totaled, Senator Obama and his allies have outspent Senator Clinton by a margin of $18.4 million to $9.2 million on advertising in the four states that are voting next Tuesday.
Senator Obama has campaigned hard in these states. He has spent time meeting editorial boards, courting endorsers, holding rallies, and - of course - making speeches.
If he cannot win all of these states with all this effort, there’s a problem.
Should Senator Obama fail to score decisive victories with all of the resources and effort he is bringing to bear, the message will be clear:
Democrats, the majority of whom have favored Hillary in the primary contests held to date, have their doubts about Senator Obama and are having second thoughts about him as a prospective standard-bearer.
steveeboy, just to clear something up, I don’t think anybody who posts here has actually chosen her as our candidate. At least I know I certainly haven’t and Susie has been pretty clear that she hasn’t either. I’m not sure who Maya, Dr. S or PSoDT are backing, but I certainly haven’t seen them back anybody specifically here.
Eric has a pretty interesting take on this:

Here’s a video that is so close it begs the question of whether there was some blatant plagiarism by the Clinton staff.
