You are a Working Class Warrior, also known as a blue-collar Democrat. You believe that the little guy is getting screwed by conservative greed-mongers and corporate criminals, and you’re not going to take it anymore.

what’s to discuss? it’s totally 100% true, and why i am bracing myself now for an almost inevitable McCain presidency.
Maybe he’ll choose Cheney as his vp.
Cheney’s some sort of cyborg, isn’t he? That’s a really nasty suggestion. I have to go drink lye or something.
Everybody’s saying that democrats haven’t made up their mind who they want, rather than saying that opinion is deeply and fairly evenly divided, and these differences in opinion are what need to be talked about. The lack of party leadership is just creeping me out.
I’m with brendan…what’s to discuss? They’ll be so busy trashing each other that even a washed up old goat like McCain will win in the fall. And the press will delight in the “Democrats in disarray” theme all the while.
and not just win, Cabin Girl, but win handily. With a wide enough margin that he can declare a mandate.
we’re SO screwed.
Don’t be so negative yet grasshoppers. Truth is stranger than fiction and stuff could still happen.
FYI- the problem for the Dems is that 15% or so of their base are socialists and Americans in general don’t like that.

the problem with your comment is that 87.54% of all statistics are made up on the spot.
“FYI- the problem for the Dems is that 15% or so of their base are socialists and Americans in general don’t like that.”
Prove it wendy: show me a citation.
Sure Brendan - I can do that - right after you show me the citation for your 100% statement above.
Yum, yum eat ‘em up!
I hear brains taste good scrambled with eggs.
Zombies!
There is not a lot of meat left after a body has starved to death.
Does it really matter who wins since the winner will be coming from the Senate. Which is the worst part of our government. It’s were progress goes to die and comprise is seen as the best thing. So get ready for 4 years of a big nothing.
John McCain will get his ass handed to him, by the 60.398% of Americans who are so sick of this moronic war, no matter which of the two Democratic candidates win the nomination. It is a slam dunk, and the 15% of the base that is socialist will vote along with the rest.

I have trouble buying this doom and gloom scenario.
First: most voters are very, very low information. For those who are not voting R or D because their parents did a familiar name is often helpful. The longer “Obama” and “Clinton” are in the news the better their name recognition, and the less exposure McCain gets.
Second: Bill Clinton is now remembered fondly even by Republicans. (See name recognition above.) As all the polls and his approval ratings showed, the public gave damn-all about Monica. They remember Clinton for the jobs, the peace, and what now seems to be an optimistic time. Bush, by contrast, is associated with lost jobs, foreclosed homes, military funerals in a war no one wants or understands, nebulous fears, and a darkening future.
Third: In politics a week is a life time, and a month is historical record. Notice both Obama’s and Clinton’s unexpected wins with the electorate changing its preferences even as voting was ongoing. Once the Democrats pick a candidate, if they will train their firepower on McCain and his “More wars, less jobs” message public opinion can swing overnight. The Dems will still have to fight the media’s love of all lies Republican, but they should be aware of that.
What worries me is a stupid campaign - a day late and a pushback short - such as Kerry ran in 2004…and even with that he damn near won. The country is desperate for change.
I live in die hard, deep red Republican country. Just today my cleaning lady (Bush in 2000, 2004, McCain in Republican primary in January) told me that she and her husband were
She’s far from the only one I’ve heard say that. Believe me, if the Republicans have lost these folks, born, bred and die Republicans, the GOP is in deep, deep trouble.
Let us not defeat ourselves with a concentration on intra-party negative naval gazing about which the general electorate could care less.
wendy whinner,

Your response doesn’t make any sense. Do you understand figures of speech?
See, susie was comparing the Democratic Party to the Donner Party, which famously cannibalized itself. I was agreeing 100% with Susie’s simile. I AM the citation. Ask anyone if I agree that the Democratic Party is figuratively speaking like the Donner Pass Party. They will tell you that I agree with that 100%.
You on the other hand claimed that “the problem for the Dems is that 15% or so of their base are socialists”. That’s not expressing your full, 100% agreement that a figure of speech is accurate. What you did present as a fact that 15% of the democratic base is socialist. I think that’s debatable (unlike my 100% belief in the comparison of democrats to cannibals, which everyone acknowledges I believe), so where is your proof?
i won’t hold my breath. 15% of the democratic base are socialists, what a fucking joke. What happened. did Ringling Brothers fire you?
Clio, that’s good news about your cleaning lady.
