Heard a lot of bad things about Vista, as have most folks I suppose. Hence I never wanted to try it. Interesting to hear Microsoft’s own execs echoing the negative reviews. My brother, who’s a computer techie, agrees with the negative assessments, saying that Vista is a “space hog” that doesn’t really give you much extra for all the disc space it occupies, and that it does indeed present lots of compatability problems. His advice? “Don’t get it if you can avoid it.”
I must have dodged the bullet and lived to tell the tale. The laptop I purchased with Vista (07/07) along with Microsoft Office works just fine. I did have one minor problem at first, but going to the Microsoft online discussion group, I posed my question and had an answer in two minutes back in two minutes, back in business in less than that. I have also had no compatability issues with the printer that I purchased about a year ago. I’m a happy camper. I actually prefer it to XP.
It hasn’t done much to increase the accuracy of my typing however.
That was supposed to be ‘had and answer in two minutes, back in business in less than that.’
