<description>i had the great good fortune to meet maria and arrange for the band to perform at a benefit when the first album was released. what an extraordinary writer and performer. one of those artists whose work almost never appears on one of those pbs specials about "the ?? decade," but whose purity of vision and extraordinary ability transcend the commercial pablum that merits(?) airplay and exposure to the wider audience.
