Happy Vernal Equinox

I forgot to note that today was the first day of spring, mostly because I was so happy they re-opened I-95 and my ride home was back to its normal 25 minutes. (It took me an hour and a half to get home the first night. Arggghh.)
Anyway, the insurance company on the floor down from us had a giant Vernal Equinox party at the office today. They brought in all kinds of great-looking food and they took everyone down to the parking lot for a ritual welcome to spring. (Maybe they’re a pagan insurance company, my friend Rick pointed out. Which is probably true, since they also have a huge Halloween party.)
When I was about eight, I started to note that every year, sometime within a week of the first day of spring, we had (at the very least) snow flurries and often, real snow.
We’ve had no measurable precipitation to speak of this year, but we are supposed to have some snow Saturday morning.

No measurable precipitation? I wish I were there.
“Maybe they’re a pagan insurance company”
Ha! Of course all insurance comapanies are pagan.
I think it was a pagan insurance company. Blessed be!
Nice blog. Great picture.
My theory on Chicago was just when you were convinced that
winter was completely over, you would get one more wet snow storm which was mother nature’s way of saying…fooled ‘ya.
Thankfully, I discovered winter was optional and no longer own a snow shovel.
