Both Democratic candidates have made a few vague, and not so vague, utterances that might lead one to believe that they’re receptive to some form of tort reform. By the zero sum logic of elections, this means that tort reform is now a truly awesome idea (at least in whichever form your preferred candidate has most recently hinted at a receptivity to) which should be embraced by all people as both inevitable and good. Anybody who points out something to the contrary is naive.
At least I think that’s how it works.

Tort reform is just another way to strip rights from human beings and increase corporate profits..
Of course it isn’t. How it works is, you have to help elect enough populists to Congress to hold them in check.
You know, this is one of the reasons Edwards could not be allowed to win. In fact, there’s a case to be made for Obama being selected as the anti-Edwards, rather than the anti-HRC.
Yeah, I’d like to see tort “reform” too.
Like triple damages against mendacious insurers that try to weasel out of paying what they owe. Stuff like that.
No doubt that puts me firmly in the Edwards camp, aka the Island of Misfit Toys. Oh well.
Whitebeard’s got it.
