Ah, Matt Taibbi. The guy who thought it was hard-hitting journalism to follow John Kerry around in a gorilla suit to make Kerry look ridiculous. Thanks for helping the swiftboaters, Matt. The families of Iraqis and American troops killed since Jan. 2005 appreciate it, I’m sure.

Sorry, Taibbi occupies the same level for me as Bill “get over 2000″ Maher - stopped clocks and all that, but not a voice to pay particular attention to.

I haven’t heard anyone on TV talk about what Wright actually said but lots and lots of people on line are talking about it. And as Matt Taibii stated there’s nothing particularly new about it, and evidently books have been written on the topic of not being too quick to blame racism for various grievances–evidently one even by Orlando Patterson, the one who counted black kids in the 3 a.m. ad (or so said someone on line).

If race is a topic we should talk about then what Rev. Wright said does not fall into the same category of all the other noise — how do you decide whether global warming is more important. I think one topic worth talking about is the appalling American History taught to white kids–my older child’s H.S. book described slavery as no big deal and reconstruction as just like Gone With the Wind–o.k. I’m exaggerating but not really by that much. By the time my younger child got to take the class there was a new textbook, much more accurate, only 150 years + after the fact.

It’s also worth talking about as apparently some authors have and certainly Bill Cosby has is whether the message of victimization helps.

Anyway Matt Taibii thinks he knows more than he does (maybe like the rest of us) but he’s a little too smug for me. He and Bill Maher do make a good pair.

well, hrc now says that obama should leave wright’s church.

I guess she is running for CINC of the Squeebs.
