I forgot to mention that my Very Good Friend Paul Krugman® reads Making Light, and was thrilled to be sitting across from Teresa Neilsen-Hayden (who, like me, is a narcoleptic) at dinner.
I also needled Paul Krugman®, “You’re one of those people who ordered a Kindle, aren’t you?”
And yes, he did. “But I didn’t get it yet, they’re six weeks on back order!”
Oh, and everyone at dinner was impressed when I pointed out that the Chinese restaurant across the street was the one mentioned in Warren Zevon’s “Werewolves of London.”
Heh. We’re all such geeks.
That was a great dinner! Plus, it was totally weird that 4/5 of the people at the table had chronic health conditions. And no, I never would have guessed I’d be having dinner with two narcoleptics, much less two!
Kind of personalized the health care crisis, didn’t it?
