Excellent piece. Too bad it’s not run on every cable and broadcast channel. I’m a neutral in the Clinton-Obama thing and pretty much I think each candidate’s ‘official’ rhetoric against the other has been really tame compared to the crap ‘reported’ by the media talking heads. Their supporters in the comments sections - not so much. My real concern is this psychotic hate thing that is the underlying theme of media and therefore public perceptions of Ms. Clinton. Yes, Obama’s got a taste (nothing like that which he’ll face if he’s the candidate in the fall), but this unreasoning vilification, I’m at a loss to understand. Normally kind and level headed folk (men and women) get red-in-the-face shirty when she comes up in conversation. But when asked for specifics, all I get back are blank stares and meme not concrete issues or actions. Maybe I’m naïve, but is this really society’s misogynist core showing through (i.e., this hatred would be directed at any woman running for the office) or misogyny used as a tool to attack this specific person (which would raise the question, why is it ok to spew at Hillary and not another woman?). Most of the dialog seems to center on documenting its existence rather than its origins. Ok, I’m rambling so I’ll stop. Call me paranoid, but this shit is too widespread, too public, too well coordinated to be early 21st century American zeitgeist.
Brilliant!
Go Hillary. If you don’t win, we’ll elect Obama.
I was an Edwards guy but I’ll vote Clinton in the primary. I heard a comment today on the radio, “It’s like if I won a million dollars and I had a choice of $100 bills and $50 bills, it doesn’t matter. I still got a million dollars.” The lady was speaking of Clinton and Obama. We have two fine candidates and yes, we choose sides and want our favorite to win, but in the end, it is our responsibility to defeat the republicans and get the leadership of the country back to the people that actually populate it, work for it and die for it.
Screw McCain and everything he says he stand for. He stands for nothing.

Nice compilation… they really do suck, don’t they?
I find Hillary and Barack to be very similar — both are better than Bush / McCain. But only two facts are compelling to me.
First, Hillary has been one of the honorary chairs of the DLC. If you ever wanted to know what her politics are, look no further than her, Bill, and Bruce Reed. They have tried for 20 years to move the Democratic Party to the right. They are the reason that Paul Wellstone (and later Howard Dean) introduced himself: “Hi, I’m Howard Dean, and I am from the Democratic Wing of the Democratic Party. Hillary is not. She is part of the leadership of the right wing of the party. (And her first action will be to replace Howard as party chair.)
Second, Hillary can rally the foot soldiers of the party like no one else can. Unfortunately, those are Republican foot soldiers. People who have never voted in their lives will register, and turn out, just to vote against her — or more accurately, against the stereotype of her. She would end up rallying the Republican faithful like John McCain never could.
I voted for Barack in my local caucus.
That said, IF Hillary is the nominee, I will still vote for her. Because defeating Bushism is too important for us to be distracted by minor Barack - Hillary pissing contests. It’s time to grow up, gang.
Obama’s campaign has been extremely nearsighted in that instead of decrying the unfairness of the main stream media, they have exploited it.
Forgetting Niemoller’s warnings is likely to be tragic because the media has played such an unfair hand and that once Obama is no longer the anti-Clinton candidate, the media will bury him just like it buried John Edwards with thoughtful discussions about $400 haircuts, just like the way they ridiculed Al Gore in 2000 and have been endlessly attacking Hillary. At the point that the media destroys Obama, their divide and conquer methodology will have won.
If there was one issue that Democrats needed to unite on, it was to demand fair treatment from the main stream press. The shameful thing was the Obama campaign not only saw it coming, they rode the jet stream.
Yeah, what G, Newman said.
And, don’t forget, Clinton voted for the war, which is the worst foreign policy disaster in US history and demonstrates a fundamental lack of judgment, competence, and engagement–”I didn’t read the NIE.”
However, even with all this, she still gets my vote if she is the nominee.
steveeboy: Don’t forget that Ms. Clinton voted to authorize war with Iran in 2007 and has called for military attacks on that country.
I vote dem regardless, but hillary has been sucking up to corporate lobbyists since her hubby was in office…I don’t trust anybody who would have union buster Mark Penn in her campaign!
Thank you for taking the time to create a blog post on the video “Mad as Hell/Bitch”.
The video was created by two grassroots supporters who met online, IndyRobin and GeekLove08. It took 4 weeks to create the video as we were collaborating via e-mail and we had a lot of material to work with. Both of us are fairly new to YouTube– I started to create videos in February and this was IndyRobin’s first video.
We believe that the message of misogyny, as well as the character assassination of Hillary Clinton, by the media is an important one. We are “mad as hell” that television has become what Edward R. Murrow had warned about in 1958 when he said “This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires and lights in a box.”
Thanks to people like you, the video has gone “viral” spreading through the internet, and perhaps inspiring people to speak out against the media.
If you and/or your readers have the opportunity, we would appreciate it very much if you could go to the original video post on YouTube and RATE the video, post a COMMENT on the video, and FAVORITE the video. These actions will help the video earn YouTube “honors” which may help further promote the video online. (You can get to the YouTube site for the video by double clicking the video on your blog.)
Thanks again for your post.

P.S. The video is not an anti-Obama video, but rather a video against the media bias. No matter who one supports, this type of character assassination and sexism by the media should not be tolerated. However, for those who do support Hillary Clinton, a donation to her campaign, for those who can afford it, would be great. There is a donation link on YouTube. The donation link appears when you click “More info” that appears next to the video information “Added: April 06, 2008″. I will also try to post a link here too — Click to Donate. Thanks.
Hillary is human and the press has been tawdry and petty during these primary elections - both to Obama and Hillary. I’d like to do something about the pundits almost as much as I want a change in the country. I’ll be voting for Obama and witholding my vote from Hillary, even if she is the nominee (I just won’t vote). I can’t support someone with union busting, defense contrator lobbyists for backers. She’s in the wrong pockets. Obama’s money came from me and millions of others like me.
