Omigod, how funny is this? I finally took a look at the rest of that ARG survey and guess what it says?
23% of likely Democratic primary voters say that excessive exposure to Obama’s advertising is causing them to support Clinton.
I can’t tell you how heavily the Obama ads have supersaturated the local airwaves. You can’t watch five minutes without seeing one. There are so many, even the Clinton ads come as a welcome change (and I hate political commercials).
A friend of mine was talking recently with Neil Oxman, the famed local media consultant. Oxman said the Obama people wanted to bring him on as a consultant for the PA primary, but he turned it down because they wouldn’t listen to him. He warned them against overdoing it, but they insisted the ad saturation worked in other states and would work here.
Oxman said those other states aren’t Pennsylvania. Apparently he was right.

This used to be an enjoyable, if somewhat depressing, blog.
Now it’s a one-trick broken record.
feh.
It also says “24% of likely Democratic primary voters say they would never vote for Barack Obama in the primary.”
It is probable that there is major overlap (possibly 100%) in these 2 populations. Hard core Clinton supporters were asked a loaded question about Obama’s advertising and responded in an entirely predictable manner. I do some survey design and asking these two questions of the same populations is weak at best.
I strongly suspect that the 10% of all likely Democratic primary voters who said they would never vote for Hillary Clinton would respond the same way about her ads.
the fat lady still has to sing…
just so you remain optimistic and hopeful rather than bitter, cause we all know how optimistic and hopeful you are about the future.
“the fat lady still has to sing…”
Elton?
I’m sure the Clintonites here we so thrilled when Hillary won Maine, Delaware, Connecticut, Iowa, and Wisconsin just as ARG predicted…
The Obama ads have been all him, while the Clinton ads have been surrogates (Rendell, Nutter) and she just shows up at the end to approve the message. So the Clinton ads have been more varied, as well as frequent.
Gee, Jessica, that’s really too bad.
