Please note: He is just as deeply afflicted with the Fonzie syndrome (”I was wwrrrrroonnngggg….) as Clinton. That’s how politicians are, and the ones who run for president are even worse. It’s just that we all seem to have a blind spot when our preferred candidate does it.
And now that’s it’s officially okay to cling to guns:

When Charlton Heston said you could only take his gun when you pried it from his cold, dead hands, he wasn’t clinging to it, just holding with a firm grip.
sorry susie,
making up sniper fire wholesale on numerous occasions is NOT the same thing as having desperate opponents attack you for demonstrably true statements about the use of wedge issues among white working class voters and how they have been used to secure electoral victories since the time of Nixon.
but hey, stay optimistic, not bitter!
His remarks were perhaps his most detailed effort, to date, to recast what he said on the West Coast, when he said that the ailing eonomy in the Rust Belt caused people to “get bitter” and that “they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment ot anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.” Tonight, he sought to explain that he never meant to imply that either religion or the use of guns for hunting — a huge pasttime here in Pennsylvania — was a bad thing.
What about antipathy to people who aren’t like them, anti-immigrant sentiment, and anti-trade sentiment? Good things or bad things?
speaking of misspeaking, last week you called out Obama for not participating in the street money scam.
This morning the Daily News writes that Clinton’s not paying out the street money either.
Will you be pointing out her foolishness as well?
Brendancalling:
No she won’t. (I should point out good on both of them for not paying Volunteers, it kind of defeats the volunteering part).
Neither will she point out that Obama has now said he will investigate Bush crimes in the White House, something Clinton will never do (just like her husband).
It seems someones blind spot is a lot bigger than those she professes to be bothered by.
rendell tried to attack obama on this by noting that hrc simply had no money to pay WAM and could barely pay media while obama had money to burn–thus implying that she could not pay but he had decided not to…
You know, Obama did not endorse clinging to guns, he simply stated that people do it, which is true.
Cmon, Susie.
