The first time I saw Ed Rendell laid back in a chair in a salon on Locust Street, his hair(s) getting shampooed in preparation for a dye job, was the day I realized, as you put it, he's going "from black-and-white to color." I can't really say I thought he was much of a "hound," especially since he acted embarassed about the process he was having to endure. Maybe there's something to the phrase "only your hairdresser knows for sure." In his case, maybe he feels his hairdresser is the only one who should know. Get a bottle of Grecian Formula Ed, then you won't have to have your chauffeur park in a loading zone in front of the entrance and your bodyguards chatting up the chicks and blocking the sidewalk for the entire time it takes to make yourself photogenic again.

Political acumen? Yep, Ed's got it. He'll say whatever it takes to make things happen. He does have this going for him: at least he's not a Republican.

Hounddog Ed! That just makes me Laugh Out Loud!

i just find the last 4 months Susie has spend defending hrc from bullies and undeserved criticism while being quick to label anything even pointing towards sexism and at the same time defending her policies and electibility being somewhat minimized now by panning over a candidate who radiates sexual chemistry. If you fight so hard to stomp out sexist ranting but then turn out an article sounding like a 10th grader fawning over their older gym-teacher it just seems to minimize the seriousness of degree you support your candidate. I'm no puritan but "freakin loving" a man (mr hrc) who has absolute zero respect for a woman from a emotional perspective (multiple affairs, zero sense of shame) plays right into the mode many sexists see women today...I mean where was NOW during the whole monica mess? the organization to defend womens rights and sexism defense and they just sat on their handbags afraid to upset the abuser...pathetic really. and a lot of men work as partners in the efforts to erase the glass ceilings but then hear or read about the "girls just swoonin' for the sweet talker" and acting like objects to played...

dude, joe, some of us are not puritans. it's possible to recognize somebody is politically skillful and attractive without it also having to be some grand statement about politics or the state of international affairs. i mean hell, i felt that way about barack obama myself until only a few months ago (i no longer like the guy). and i still feel that way about bill clinton, whom i freaking love. i've never thought of rendell that way, but he's definitely talented politically--it was fun watching him clean daschle's clock a while back.

this blog has gotten to the point of you commenting on the "charisma" and "magnetic" qualities of a politician and equating it to the carrying of a "hound" handle?? So the "masterful" politicians which leave an "impression" on you are the ones who invoke some desire (sexual/passion/lust??) in you? And we are to expect to assign some seriousness to your political opinions??? Have you been hiding from us that you are in fact fifteen years old?

is he married? if so being quite the "hound" is a good thing? why are so many people overwhelmed by the charisma of someone so lacking in morality and respect of a spouse? Is it the "hound" that equates to the charisma? I mean a lot of people can light up a room but mr hrc and rendell being shown as an example and then their "hound-ness" being highlighted...is that what OB is lacking in your viewpoint...? the "hound-like" aspects of charisma is not there with OB? certainly he can light up a room...certainly LBJ and Nixon were masterful politicians but did they exude the "hound-ness"? If not I guess they would leave no impression on you??

I agree, there is that "something" about Ed Rendall that is pleasantly attractive. Kind of like a more wholesome Tony Soprano. You know you shouldn't but there it is.
