Looking around the blogosphere, I see that quite a few people think Obama was singled out for unfair treatment last night. But that’s the kind of thing that happens when you’re the front runner. The media thinks of itself as the Omegas, and this is just all part of the good-natured hazing ritual that makes sure you’re tough enough to belong to the club!
Yeah, it’s pretty fucked up. What can I say?

Where were these netroots all this time when Hillary was getting treated unfairly? I guess it only matters when it’s their guy getting hammered.
Well, Hillary got hammered on Tuzla last night and demonstrated far greater humility and dismissed the question in a relatively short amount of time.
Blogosphere is almost entirely in the tank for Obama…which is fine but I’m sorry that the press mistreatment didn’t just start last night and is a real good indication of what the layout will be if Obama is the nominee…and in my eyes, he performed poorly.
Susan, where have all the brand-new posters who loved Obama and hated you gone? I was expecting them to have left many posts this morning castigating you for your various sins.
I didn’t watch. Is there anywhere that has an objective summary of how it went?

Christ, let your hatred of everyone who supports Obama subside for 5 minutes. NONE of us defended Tim Russert’s or Chris Mathew’s behavior as ‘being because she was the front runner’, we defended the fact that ALL of the other candidates piled on her because of that. They were supposed to, and most of us who supported other people were angry Hillary was getting all the debate time. Yet more revisionist history from the Hillary Blogosphere.

Clinton channeling Hannity? Ignoring the fact that you are making the loaded statement that infers right wing attack and that she cannot make her own, unaided arguments, for her not to repeated the same things that she’s been saying on the campaign trail would have made her campaign trail speeches seem hollow.
But it’s not like Obama didn’t get his own cheap shots in himself…the reference to the 2 pardons which Hillary had nothing to do with was a rather classless touch…but hey, who’s keeping score.

The problem was that Hillary agreed with and piled on stupid question after stupid question. Maybe you think it’s good when Clinton starts channeling Sean Hannity, but I think it’s appalling.
If I believed you had said something similar when Russert had everyone ganging up on Clinton, I might take your current criticism seriously.
The candidates are running against each other, ffs. Of course they’re going to take shots when openings are presented. But Obama’s treatment by the press last night is the important issue; I should hope that Obama supporters realize that this is how they can expect him to be treated in the general, and that he’s going to have to learn how to deal with this treatment if he wants to beat McCain.
sorry, but she was channeling hannity, and she kept sticking the knife in–she is the one that brought up farrakhan, kept mentioning stuff about wright, ayers, etc.
She even had the temerity to claim that ayers bragged about his activities “on 9/11″ and thus tried to be as inflammatory as possible –even though his comments were published in the NYT that morning BEFORE the attacks occurred.

Obama tried to take the high-road numerous times by asking why the focus was on nonsense that he had answered already, but then he finally had to respond.
you cannot–if HRC is going to claim that she has more experience based on her “serving” in the Clinton Administration, try to distance her from it when Clinton Administration actions are relevant.
Hillary claimed that obama will be attacked for weather underground “associations” 40 years after the fact and thus is a weaker candidate in a general.
Obama responded–after she kept fucking with him, that she would be attacked just the same because pardons were issued to convicted weathermen by the Clinton admin.

Hillary didn’t ask the question…Stephanopolous did. You need to take up your argument with him or just sit back and wait for KO’s special comment.

Considering that there hadn’t been a debate or hard news conference since the Wright issue and ‘Bitter gaffe’ - it seemed only reasonable that questions were coming down those pipes. The 53 minutes was largely dominated by Obama fumbling/stumbling over his words trying to get a footing on these topics.
When they point blanked Hillary, she confessed her sin, it was done and dispensed with quickly. Everyone’s got to make up their own mind how well their candidate played in Scranton…

Obama sees no high road, takes no high road but only saps who want to believe in this fictitious ‘politics of hope’ missed the fact that he had no problem sliming her with the pardons/commutations that Bill gave which she had nothing to do with. Politics of hope indeed.
I personally don’t have an axe to grind with Obama on the issue of Bill Ayers nor do I have an axe on Bill Clintons pardons and neither have anything to do with this election at all. The fact that Stephanopolous asked this useless question is a valid complaint. Hillary actually represents NY and does have an axe to grind on terrorism because of this and while I wish she had let the issue pass without comment but she didn’t…deal with it.
